Monday I’ll start my first MOOC (massive open online course). While I’m interested in the topic, I’m doing it mostly for the experience. I’ve participated in online courses before but in a class of about 20 at most. I picked one from Coursera and I have to say the lead up to the course is good. 

At T minus 2 weeks I got an email setting the expectations for the course:

Every week, we’ll release approximately two hours of lectures, divided into 7-12 minute video segments. There will also be assignments, including multiple-choice quizzes and project exercises that apply the concepts to realistic scenarios.

Then at T minus 3 days I got an email with a short survey about my experience and interest in the topic.

And so it begins. I’ll keep you posted about the course as it goes along.
